Midrange Support
ICM offers comprehensive support across the range of IBM, HP and Sun Midrange systems. We deliver onsite hardware maintenance with a range of Service Levels and response times. When combined with our Software Support and our 24x7 cover, it creates a unique offering for our customers.
We offer a realistic and cost effective alternative to the manufacturers. We use twenty six Remote Logistics Centres around the UK to source parts for Midrange technology. This means ICM has access to over eleven thousand parts held in stock making it straightforward to find replacement parts.
IBM pSeries and iSeries Support
ICM is able to supply and install all current IBM pSeries systems. With many years experience with AIX systems, ICM have managed the migration of many applications from a wide range of legacy hardware to current pSeries systems. This has ranged from mirrored p690s with Shark to complex HACMP clusters.
ICM continues to offer support on many of the older IBM R/S 6000 models which the manufacturer is no longer able to support. With our nationwide network of support centres we can source spare parts from a variety of suppliers and we have the technology and the skills to continue supporting your critical business systems.
Software houses have selected ICM as a trusted partner to provide support to the pSeries environment as part of solutions for their customers. The hardware can be hosted in one of ICM's 24x7 managed data centres. ICM can also combine support with business continuity arrangements for all pSeries hardware at our business continuity centres.
ICM can assist customers who have a skills shortage in the system administration, technical and operational support of their iSeries servers. Administration support includes user log-in and password management, change-control management and capacity monitoring, such as disk and CPU. In terms of technical support, ICM offers assistance with installation of licensed programs and OS upgrades, as well as setup assistance and second line program management.
Operational support covers first-line problem management, backups, restores and full restores following a system failure, printer management and batch work. ICM can provide all these services either remotely or with an on-site technical expert. We can also host customers' information in one of our data centres to further protect IT infrastructure.
Midrange Hosting
Data forms the heart of any organisation, but protecting it can prove to be expensive and time consuming. ICM has tier III data centres which offer a secure location with carefully controlled facilities, designed to combat environmental and power disruptions. We offer a fully managed solution where all equipment is owned, maintained, monitored and upgraded by ICM, minimising the investment required by the customer. For a business to implement their own data centre, maintain it and have dedicated resources assigned to monitor 24 hours a day, the cost would be very significant.

iSeries Health-Check and Consultancy
The Health-Check will include an audit of the environment in which the iSeries is installed, the hardware configuration (system and peripherals), the software configuration (system values etc) and Administration and Operations Procedures. The result will be a series of grades A, B, C and so on, for each area, identifying where effort can be expended to best effect. ICM can then offer consultancy assistance to help with any deficiencies identified by the audit.
